The Archives is proud to announce the addition of the William T. Hiraoka Papers to the Japanese American Veterans Collection. William, or Bill as he liked to be called, was drafted into the military as a young man, just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The materials donated focus on his military career in the Counter Intelligence Corps, while he was stationed in Australia, and later, participated in the Allied Occupation of Japan after their surrender. Further accretions to the collection will include post-war papers as he established himself as a successful insurance man and loving husband and father.
